• "Please commit a crime" is verbatim the protocol of Kate Gompert's marijuana source — "One kid makes you ask him to please commit a crime" (p. 75, scene 024): the text quietly implies Pemulis (or his protocol) supplies Enfield's civilian users (an echo only — the supply link is inferred, never stated).
• The shared optics-and-editing labs were formerly worked by Leith and Ogilvie (p. 51, scene 013; Carlisle catch) — the JOI-optics inheritance line running from Himself's crew (Disney Leith; the Ogilvie of scene 044's essay-grading, plausibly n.24's holographer Urquhart Ogilvie — flagged in the archive's catalog) to Pemulis's scholarship and Mario's cartridges.
• Hal's "Fine and thanks you for asking" is the politeness-mask whose failure is the novel's frame (scene 001); cf. his locker-room "we" persona (scene 034) and lying-to-Orin bookkeeping (scene 041).

• n.53 is Eschaton's first definition — the catastrophic I-Day Eschaton (pp. 321-342, scene 073) with Pemulis as enraged rules-keeper and Lord, Possalthwaite among the casualties; the tow truck itself figures in E.T.A. logistics (Lung erection, p. 153) thereafter.
• The quarterly-urine institution is the gun on the wall for the DMZ crisis: the unannounced post-I-Day test and Pemulis's negotiated thirty days (the November crisis and the n.324-range material) end his E.T.A. career; Hal "gets his sterile urine gratis" — the dependency baseline his November stopping shatters.
• n.54's Grammars triad extends Avril's Militant Grammarians thread (scene 043, n.51); Struck's plagiarism service foreshadows his lift from the wheelchair-assassins monograph (feeding the reader A.F.R. history).
