• What: Orin insists to Hal that JOI stopped drinking in January — "something Joelle was real specific about," her condition for appearing in his final work — and uses the Wild-Turkey-by-the-oven detail to needle ("As in he hadn't been sober after all"). Hal's counter (that by then it was impossible to tell whether JOI had ingested anything) leaves the sobriety timeline disputed.
