What: Through "intricate third-party negotiations," Michael Pemulis buys 650 mg of the rare, incredibly potent B.S.-1970s hallucinogen DMZ — nicknamed "Madame Psychosis" — from the Antitois: thirteen 50-mg tablets. Because Pemulis always conducts business solo and speaks no French, the whole transaction with "the Nuck in charge" has to be negotiated in dumbshow, whipping and waggling heads amid the shop's disorienting angled mirrors, with the mute Lucien standing by cradling his broom and scanning the closed shop for eavesdroppers.
