Orin Incandenza and his B.U. doubles partner's private name for Joelle van Dyne, the baton-twirling Boston University sophomore Orin fell for: "The schoolboy epithet they’d made up to refer to Orin’s twirler was the P.G.O.A.T., for the Prettiest Girl Of All Time" (p. 289). The beauty worked like a force field — "she was almost universally shunned" (p. 290), since no male could work up the nerve to approach her — the phenomenon U.H.I.D. would later name for her as the Actaeon Complex (see that entry). Her other acquired name is Madame Psychosis (see that entry).
