Context
The infiltration registers on the roster as absences and lurkings before anyone names it. Thierry Poutrincourt — the Québecer prorector who ran the double-blind against Steeply in 130 — has gone AWOL the very morning the "Special-Olympicish" wheelchair contingent turns up in the lot; and Michael Pemulis has been unseen since dawn, spotted only "'lurking' out by the West House dumpsters looking […] 'anxiously depressed.'" Read together they are the surface disturbance of an operation moving underneath the gala's logistics: one Québecer staff member vanished, one student going to ground.
