The impression I get is that Québec’s hatred of anglophone Canada transcends anything they could work up against O.N.A.N. Just mention 1759 and the Moms’s lips disappear. Pemulis and Axford keep coming early and putting a big gothic 1759 on the blackboard before G&M just to watch the Moms’s lips disappear when she comes in and sees it.

Avril in the classroom: G&M is glossed by the note's own sub-footnote — in full, "Grammar and Meaning." — i.e. the Grade-12 course of her required triad (n.54, above), taught by the Moms herself, where Pemulis and Axford run their 1759 blackboard prank on the grammarian. The crusade, the curriculum, and the family wound share one room.
