Context

The binge's presiding image: the only entertainment running is an explicitly "recursive slo-mo loop" of flames, playing over two nodding addicts for days. The loop-cartridge is Various Small Flames from JOI's filmography (p. 987) — the father's looping film watching over Gately's long fall.
