O.N.A.N.ite samizdat and the "meta-extortion" reading of the insurgency

• What: With no true U.S. samizdat under the First Amendment, the only "O.N.A.N.ite samizdat" is ultra-radical Québécois/Albertan anti-O.N.A.N. material — north of the border the R.C.M.P.s "are empowered to impound literature and even desktop-publishing and InterLink hardware et cetera without any sort of warrant." Onto this frame Orin relays his "Subject"'s hypothesis of the whole insurgency as meta-extortion: the pan-Canadian look of the anti-O.N.A.N. terror is a dodge — Separation remains the Québécois insurgents' real goal, and the terror is orchestrated to make Canada "the sort of black scapegoat of all of O.N.A.N.," so Québec can offer Ottawa a deal (let Québec Separate, and it will take sole public credit as O.N.A.N.'s nemesis, "[o]ffering themselves as the culprit and de-Reconfiguration as the objective"). Hal's counter is recorded in the same call: the insurgency so far is "too hapless and small-potato for her theory to work."
