• When: ~early O.N.A.N., the Year of the Whopper into the Year of the Tucks Medicated Pad (2002-03); the doze-accidents ran "twenty months" before detection and continued "well into" YTMP
• What: The A.F.R.'s first tangible anti-O.N.A.N. atrocity, as taught in E.T.A.'s Québec-history seminar: a then-unnamed Papineau-region cell dragged huge mirrors across odd-numbered northbound U.S. highways at night, so that empiricist motorists brazening out their own impending high-beams veered into Adirondack chasms — twenty months of inexplicable single-car "doze" accidents (and Rodney Tine's embarrassing drowsy-driving PSAs) before a suicidal Schenectady Valium addict "saw the sudden impending headlights in her northbound lane as Grace and shut her eyes and floored it," spraying glass and micronized silver and, per the media headlines, "SMASHED THE ILLUSION" — the first proof of an ill will "way worse than anything aroused by plain old historical Separatism." The mirror-trick — killing by a victim's delusion in its own reflected light — recurs as the A.F.R.'s signature (see event 16).
