• What: Per Calvin Thrust's ward-side recap to Gately, Kate Gompert and Ruth van Cleve "supposedly went to hit an NA meeting in Inman Square and got supposedly mugged and separated, and then only Ruth van Cleve showed up back at the House," and Pat has sworn out a Protective-Custody warrant for Gompert because of Kate's psych and suicide issues. This is the novel's last attestation of Ruth: she alone makes it home. (The meeting's location as Thrust reports it — "Inman Square" — differs from scene 136's; see Dating notes.)
