• What: The novel's last sight of Poor Tony is from the Wheelchair Assassins' side, at their Antitoi-shop operations center. Among the A.F.R.'s "newly acquired test-subjects" being used as expendable viewers of the Entertainment (in Broullîme/Brullîme's digit-per-viewing field experiment) is "a mis-dressed and severely weakened or addicted man dressed in the clothing of a gauche woman, carrying multiple purses of suspicious nature" — unmistakably Poor Tony, seized (plausibly when he fled to the now-A.F.R.-held Antitoi shop, event 12; see Dating notes). The first co-captive — "an eccentrically dressed and extremely irritating without-home man of the streets in a white wig" (Randy Lenz) — is caught "severing and pushing beneath the room of storage's closed door the severed digits" of Poor Tony (the second subject) rather than his own, sabotaging the field-experiment so badly that Fortier weighs a "lethal technical interview" of Lenz out of anger. The text leaves Poor Tony there — captive, being maimed as another man's test-substitute; his fate is not shown. Kept as printed and open.
