What: Doucette is now "clinically depressed," near-flunking Watson's Energy-survey class (which would mean the Boot), his anxiety-tic firing, unable to "wrap his head around the concept of time in flux" and the annular model. He breaks down in the sauna; Mario exploits "a previous like therapeutic bond" from the mole business; then he's taken in to Lyle even with the 18's still doing circuits. "Some of the like less kind guys" have "a pool going on whether Lyle can pull him back from the brink" — and watch "like it's entertainment," which disgusts the narrating player. Lyle works him "real slowly through the most basic kiddie-physical principles of the relativity of time."
