• What: Overheard by Pemulis eavesdropping, Lyle counsels an "extremely moist" Graham Rader with his signature pedagogy: imagine a key ring of a hundred keys, one of which unlocks "this door we're imagining opening in onto all you want to be, as a player" — how many keys would you try? Rader: "every darn one." Lyle: then you accept 99% error and are "willing to make mistakes"; the self-described perfectionist, by contrast, "would stand there before that door. Jingling the keys.
