• What: Sloppy-blotto and depressed that even avant-garde critics faulted his films' fatal absence of plot, JOI emerged from the sauna and came to Lyle; out of that one weight-room night, per the narration, came both Found Drama and anticonfluentialism — the twin pillars of his late aesthetic. Only Mario and Joelle van Dyne are said to know the two doctrines were born there, a measure of how central Lyle was to Himself's art.
