• What: Bertraund's acquisitions flow into the shop for Lucien to view, label, and shelve. Recent hauls include a barter with a wrinkled long-haired West-Swiss old person in salmon-lens spectacles — eighteen old lozenges of a "trop-formidable" harmful pharmaceutical plus a waste bag of crusty unlabelled Read-Only cartridges, traded for a lava-lamp and Lucien's cherished lavender apothecary's mirror — and one or two cartridges Bertraund grabbed off untended commercial displays at the flag-draped Shaw statue, embossed with a smile-glyph and "IL NE FAUT PLUS QU'ON PURSUIVE LE BONHEUR." Every cartridge Lucien actually plays on the shop's dysfunctional 450-drive viewer reads blank, void of even static, to his disgust — but n.205 flags what the "hapless Antitois" cannot know: a Copy-Capable Master declines to run on a conventional drive, appearing empty. Lucien has "not gotten to see and shelve many" of the newest assortment; the real lethal samizdat sits unviewed among these dregs until the A.F.R. find it (event 8).
