Context
Pemulis, holding blindfolded Idris Arslanian's bladder hostage in the tunnel hallway, delivers the novel's plainest annular-fusion lecture: the eastern Concavity's catapult-fed cycles run Grid 3 from wasteland to monstrous lushness several times a month — hyperfloration as run-amok time, which Pemulis then flips inside-out into deceleration via Watson's mnemonic. Landscape-scale time-warp, the Concavity as a place where time itself has a different speed. (Annularity owns the scene's tag; this is the lived-time residue.)
