Stice stuck to the window: the forehead that stopped being cold

quote

The forehead stopped feeling cold a couple hours back, when I lost all my feeling in it. [...] It’s stuck is what it is.

Context

The Stice-thread's central image: the player's body literally fused to the building. Stice has sat four hours with his forehead frozen to a hall window — "The forehead stopped feeling cold a couple hours back, when I lost all my feeling in it" — and states the fact with a lineman's flat calm: "It's stuck is what it is." The gift-body, the top instrument, has become one more object stuck to the architecture, a piece of anatomy the cold has claimed and numbed. The horror is delivered in the register of an equipment problem.
