Stice stuck to the window: the second face under the prairie flesh
a sort of shelf of stretched forehead-flesh half a meter long extended from his head to the window. [...] I got a glimpse of Stice as he would appear after a radical face-lift: a narrow, fine-featured, and slightly rodential face, aflame with some sort of revelation, looked out at the window from beneath the pink visor of stretched spare skin.
Context
The gift-body/ruined-face split (cf. 122) made grotesquely literal. Yanking Stice back stretches "a sort of shelf of stretched forehead-flesh half a meter long," and as all his "loose jowly prairie flesh" gathers upward, Hal sees "Stice as he would appear after a radical face-lift" — a "narrow, fine-featured, and slightly rodential" second face "aflame with some sort of revelation." The Churchill-slab mask peels back to a hidden fine-boned face, so the body's very flesh becomes the site of the uncanny: the instrument opening to show something else inside it. (The revelation itself is ghosts-wraiths'; landed here is the flesh-event.)
