Context
The underground economy that grows up around mandatory testing. Pemulis "publicly dosed his opponent at Port Washington" — a body sabotaged mid-competition — and runs a side trade in "Visine bottles of pre-adolescent urine" sold "during quarterly tests," clean young piss as a black-market commodity. Where the institution polices bodies by their fluids, a market in substitute fluids inevitably appears: the pre-adolescent bladder becomes a supplier, urine a good to be bottled and sold. The testing regime manufactures its own contraband anatomy.
