Endnote 296: the F/X blood recipe

The entire endnote: the chemistry behind 140's F/X-blood leg. The main text hangs this ref on "potassium thiocyanate" in the Blood Sister finale's gore inventory (140, whose finale entry carries the scene side); the note supplies the mix ratio and the trade name, genre violence documented at the level of supplier's recipe. That the narration of a cartridge-within-the-novel comes footnoted with working splatter-F/X chemistry is the joke: the apparatus knows exactly how this kind of film is made. The trade name reads "'A + B Blood'."
