Context
The weight-room mirror used twice, and differently, at either end of the scene's roll-call. Spodek's is workmanlike — form-checking, part of the scene-opening inventory of freestyle circuits, and her counterpoint recurs mid-bedlam ("Carol Spodek’s smaller bar goes silently up and down" while Freer and Kornspan bellow). Freer's is the catalogued oddity: he watches himself walk toward the mirror — self-spectation en route to the reflection, the watcher and the image approaching each other. Carlisle logs both under Mirrors; the raw supports the contrast but no more. (N.b. n.68 hangs on Freer's name at his first mention, marker not in quote — the endnote is his nickname gloss, not optics.)
