Endnote 180, the source of Mario's agitation: Avril has him smuggled down into WYYY's freezing pink basement, where the engineer's whole answer is to point at the folded onionskin screen Madame Psychosis broadcasts from behind. She screened herself even from a blind medium — concealment past all optical function — and the discovery agitates Mario, the book's most benign camera-eye, precisely because it means the veiling was never about being seen.
