The Tunnel Club recon
Dr. James Incandenza’s old optics and editing facilities are down here off one of the main tunnels and get used for Leith/Ogilvie classes in entertainment production and for optical science tutorials etc.
Context
The screen's first catch for the scene: JOI's optics and editing labs are still physical plant, 26 meters under the Show Court where his son is at this moment playing Stice, and still in curricular use — Leith/Ogilvie entertainment-production classes and "optical science tutorials" run out of the dead founder's facilities. Direct pair with scene 013's tunnel-geography mention of "the former optical and film-development facilities of Leith and Ogilvie and the late Dr. James O. Incandenza" (pp. 51-52): same rooms, seen again six hundred pages later, now with the sub-14s detailed past them hauling trash. The optics career persists underground as infrastructure.
