Context
Green's R.E.M. nightmares in quoted detail — the scene's only actual dreamt material, surfacing in three cries spaced across Day's billowing-shape testimony, the last one landing as if in answer to Day's "There is no way it could feel worse." Carlisle identifies the dream's content precisely: the traumatic childhood Christmas Green "cannot remember except in flashes" — the man who told Lenz he doesn't dream (109) re-running nightly what he can't wake into. "nutsss" is as printed.
