Summarizes how Mario's puppet show leans hard on the idea that Rodney Tine — O.C.D.-group sponsor turned Clean U.S. Party manager turned Chief of Unspecified Services — is "the real dark force behind Reconfiguration" (p. 1030), with Johnny Gentle a genial figurehead. The note undercuts the theory: it never explains Tine's motive, notes his O.C.D. is ruminative rather than hygienic, and that he is smitten with the Québecer Luria P——. Incandenza's own film treatment of the question was far more ambiguous.
