Orin's end (roach tumbler, torture, "Do it to her!")
This asks what becomes of Orin, last seen trapped under a tumbler with a roach as the separatists close in to interrogate him. What hangs on it is whether he breaks and what he gives up, since the novel cuts away before his ordeal resolves.

Discussed in
- IJ Book Club Ep. 48 (S3 Ep 15): Are These Idiots Still Talking? — the pre-exhibition locker room, Barry Loach and the sauna death, Orin under the tumbler (pp. ~964–972) — with the Ep. 49 (S3 Ep 15a) next-day addendum
- IJ Book Club Ep. 50 (S3 Ep 16, the feed's final episode: The voice down the hall was weeping like its heart would break): one page and twelve sentences of Gately's last section — the St. Elizabeth's baptism assembly, the ice-bath dispute, the dosing war reignited, and the whole novel floated as Himself's own made-up composition (pp. ~972–974)
- IJ Lecture IV: The Year of Glad (Hardcore Literature) — the wraith orchestrates, Hal wraith-dosed with DMZ (and maybe shown the film), the too-late head-dig, and the AFR-victory missing year (pp. 795–end)
- Infinite Cast Part 122: THE END (pp. 971–981) — commentary segment only: finishing the book on-air, the ending convergence, star ratings, is-IJ-good-for-boys
- Infinite Jest visual materials (fan & scholarly images collection)
- Overdue Ep. 200: Infinite Jest — Andrew's deadline read, the Swartz architecture arriving secondhand via chronology blog posts, and a pre-election Gentle/Trump reading (recorded September 2016)
