Bystander-witness at the fracas where Gately is shot

• When: the night of 11-12 November YDAU, around and after the 2330h curfew car-moving, when Gately is shot by a Canadian during the Lenz confrontation.
• What: Just before the ruckus McDade is found illicitly sitting on Foss's rack in the 2-Man bedroom, reading Foss's motorcycle magazine, drinking the sick Glynn's Millennial Fizzy with stereo headphones on, hurriedly stubbing out a cigarette when Gately enters. When the armed Canadians corner Lenz and the fight breaks out, McDade is among the residents who appear on Ennet House's back porch to watch; he joins Emil Minty in exhorting Yolanda W. to use the spike heel, and after Gately is shot he finally comes down into the street, "for some reason wielding a mop," supplying awed color commentary over the fallen — "I think there's two of them, like, desisted," breathy with awe over his unlaced high-tops. A voice the text pins only to "either McDade or Glynn" assures the bleeding Gately he's got "fucking eyewitnesses out the ass" behind him (attribution carried as printed; see Dating notes). His presence as an eyewitness is what the hospital visit (event 6) will cash out — and refuse.
