What: Unable to view the thing safely, O.U.S. works the physical evidence: induction on postal codes, electron-microscopy on the brown padded mailers, immolation/chromatography on the unlabelled cases, and interviews of exposed civilians. P.E.T.s on sacrificed penal-system volunteer subjects show unexceptional wave-activity (not enough alpha for hypnosis). A "sociopathic and mentally retarded Lance Corporal at Leavenworth" reports the opening image — a veiled woman in a revolving door glimpsing someone whose sight makes her veil billow — before his attention is lost past even near-lethal voltages. The forensics place the dissemination-point on the U.S. north border, with hubs in metro Boston/New Bedford and the desert Southwest — which is why Tine is in Boston and Steeply in Arizona.
