JOI's microwave suicide; Orin skips the funeral, then two years' silence

When: 1 April YTSDB (2004), Headmaster's House; funeral shortly after (L'Islet, Nouveau Québec)
What: JOI put his head in a microwave oven (a wide-bit-drilled hole, foil-packed neck; a Wild Turkey bottle with a red bow found nearby; found by 13-year-old Hal). Orin was not there — Joelle had already left the grounds after the split. Orin declined the funeral and then didn't call his family for roughly two years. His whole knowledge of the death is thin and secondhand; on the 5 Nov YDAU phone call he interrogates Hal for details ("A microwave oven." / "Nobody ever said microwave.") in order to have "a handle on what I'm not saying" to the Steeply profile (event 30). Central to both open questions: the family estrangement and Orin's motive-cloud toward JOI.
