The referral: Orin points "Helen Steeply" at Bain

• When: 5 Nov YDAU (the Orin-Hal call) and the undated Nov interview session in which Orin hands over the address
• What: Under Moment-magazine profile pressure, Orin floats the idea to Hal first, as a joke about Bain's prose: "I’ve also thought of referring her to Bain, let Bain rant at her or send her letters just trying to unparse for quotes’d take her a month." In the interviews themselves the referral becomes real: "if you want stuff on the Moms and The Mad Stork you could contact Bain. He practically lived with us in Weston. As like a secondary source." Orin supplies the full snail-mail address, warns her off e-mail and the number 2, predicts Bain "inexhaustible on the subject of the Moms and O.C.D." — and asks her not to raise Orin's own foibles. The one figure Orin nominates as witness to his family is the one who will testify against him (events 15-17).
