• What: Having traced DuPlessis's copy through the tortured cranio-facial-pain specialist and the young burglar to the Antitoi brothers' shop, the A.F.R. (Fortier's cell) search it methodically, viewing every cartridge via expendable volunteers; they find the real Entertainment — but it is only Read-Only, not a duplicable Master. Marathe is the cell's chief field intelligence: he supplies the reading that DuPlessis got his original copies from an athlete relative of the auteur (Orin), whom Steeply's operative "had been clinging to… like a bad odor"; Marathe reports the losses of Joubet and Desjardins to the found cartridge, and coordinates the acquisition of the radio engineer for Broullîme's digit-per-viewing field experiment. Marathe conducted the fatal "technical interview" of the Antitoi (event 16's alley vomit).
