He also sleeps in an apnea-mouthguard (extracted mornings with strings of white nighttime oral material) whose cleaning supplies live in his room. The gag is load-bearing: the infirmary stay it causes is what exonerates him of the bed-moving and deepens the Stice mystery (event 8).
