Widowed: the mother's suicide and the unpressed charges

• When: "the evening of Thanksgiving Day in the Year of the Tucks Medicated Pad," per Notkin — the same day as event 8 in her dating clause; her aftermath clause implies a custody interval first (see Dating notes)
• What: Per Notkin's account only: no one pressed charges over the acid — "everyone's failure to press any charges" is her phrase — which "liberated the mother from Southeast-KY custody and allowed her access once again to her home's kitchen," where, apparently despondent, she killed herself with the kitchen garbage disposal, "first one arm and then, kind of miraculously if you think about it, the other arm." Notkin dates the death to the evening of Thanksgiving Day Y.T.M.P. and hangs a Lincoln-Kennedy shrug on its kitchen-appliance rhyme with the Auteur's suicide four-odd months later. The widowing is corroborated from Joelle's side without any mechanism or date: "My mother's dead. Worm-farming." (to Gately, scene 112 — the euphemism is hers), and the album scene's "her late mother" (scene 166). Joelle's own chapters never say how her mother died; the disposal, the custody, and the despondency are Notkin's alone, as printed.
