• What: Hal, Pemulis, Axford, and Kittenplan are summoned to the Headmaster's blue waiting room for "administrative fallout from Sunday's horrendous Eschaton fiasco." Hal's culpable role is his authorship of the rulebook — "All Hal'd done was act as amanuensis on a lousy manual" — and the boys' plan is "to let Pemulis do all the talking but let Hal interject at will, the voice of reason, good-cop/bad." He is "a little uncomfortable about his relief that none of the real Eschaton casualties were technically his Buddies." Consequences of the debacle land on Hal as co-architect (see event 19).
