• What: Gately's fever-dreams: Joelle-as-Winston-Churchill; Joelle-as-Mrs.-Waite-as-maternal-Death (event 5's seed — each life ends with a woman who kills you and becomes your next mother); and a graveyard dream with a "very sad kid" digging up a dead man's head, something "Continental-Emergency important" buried in it, the kid mouthing "Too Late." Cross-arc reading: the sad kid reads as Hal and the head as JOI's buried master — prefiguring the Year of Glad Hal-Gately dig (event 59); Hal never named here.
