- What: Biographical texture: his basement bedroom is plastered with Scotch-taped cutout celebrity photos, a compulsive clipping-and-taping habit held over from his North Shore childhood (n133); he still automatically notices bars, alarm-foil, magnetic contacts and hinge-plunger-buttons, a burglar's vestige (n201); his North Shore vulgate for trite/banal is "limp" (n140); much of what he "knows" of Ennet House / Pat Montesian history is house mythology, not first-hand (n193, n200); he once had to make a Financial Amend for a cracked institutional table (n195, cf. event 34); donated clothes rarely fit his bulk (n253); he still smokes in his sleep from tension (n252).
