• What: Because the Towers' vig ($1,000+ a week) did not cover their narcotics needs, both moonlighted, at first separately — Fackelmann's sideline was "I.D.s and creative personal checking," a background in forged identity and fraudulent checks (he had access to I.D.-manufacturing equipment), while Gately worked freelance security for card games and small drug-deliveries. This fraud specialty is what later lets Fackelmann and Kite run the apartment scam (event 6-7).
