• What: Glynn has "thin hair and an invariant three-day growth of gray stubble and diverticulitis that made him stoop somewhat over," plus crossed eyes and other lingering damage from the brick-load — so crossed, Joelle is overheard saying, that "the man was so cross-eyed he could stand in the middle of the week and see both Sundays." From his Skinhead youth he carries "the faint remains of a black dotted line tattooed all the way around his neck at about Adam's-apple height," with instruction-manual-style directions for removing and maintaining the disengaged head tattooed on his scalp. His prize possession is an old dusty-black VW Bug with the rear hood removed and the engine's guts on display — recognizable enough that Green, seeing a stranger's Bug idling in Union Square, measures it against "Doony Glynn's VW Bug" (scene 116). His room assignment wobbles in the text and is carried as written: scene 105 has Lenz book up to "his and Glynn's and Day's room" and fall asleep to "Glynn's apnea" (a 3-Man arrangement), while scene 120 — the same November, with Lenz resident until that very night — puts Glynn's bunk in "The 2-Man seniorest males' bedroom," where McDade sits illicitly on Foss's rack drinking Glynn's Millennial Fizzy. And per Day's comparative journal of residents' genital cognomens, "Doony Glynn called his penis 'Poor Richard'" (scene 134).
