• When: 19 Nov YDAU, the A.F.R.'s Antitoi-shop operations center, as Fortier launches the E.T.A.-acquisition operation and departs for Phoenix.
• What: The field-tests have widened, and Broullîme is consumed by them: Marathe is charged with the E.T.A. operation's details precisely because Broullîme is now thrust into technical trouble-killing on the furthering field-tests of viewer willingness. The trouble is sabotage. One newly acquired test-Subject — an eccentrically dressed, extremely irritating without-home man of the streets in a white wig, with large bags of foreign cookware and extremely small-in-size ladies' undergarments — has been discovered severing and pushing beneath the room of storage's closed door the severed digits of the second new Subject (a mis-dressed, severely weakened or addicted man in the clothing of a gauche woman, carrying multiple purses of suspicious nature) rather than his own, marring the experiment's statistics so badly that Fortier must consider whether to allow Broullîme a lethal technical interview of the substituter out of anger alone. The matrix's last state on the page: fouled data, and the scientist's method collapsing toward plain rage.
