• What: Nearly a year on, the dead C still organizes Poor Tony Krause's whole geography. In the withdrawal narrative, the drug-world "Emil" — a figure this archive does not merge with Ennet House's Emil Minty (see Dating notes) — "still had him marked for de-mapping as a consequence of that horrid thing with Wo and Bobby C last winter"; Poor Tony "hadn't dared show one feather east of Tremont St. or at the Brighton Projects or even Delphina's in backwater Enfield since last Xmas," and the very sight of an Oriental sets off palpitations. At the crest of his Codinex-withdrawal seizure on the Gray Line car, the death itself returns as vision: "He saw Bobby ('C') C's blood misting upward in the hot wind of the Copley blower." And on his post-hospital prowl toward Antitoi Entertainment — "maybe the one last place" left to hope for kindness or credit — the narration tallies his burned bridges as "the affairs of Wo and Copley Library and heart," the C catastrophe now one item in a triptych of ruin. C's other survivor remembers him too: the Fackelmann material of events 1-3 is Gately recalling C from his own YDAU hospital bed.
