• What: After DuPlessis is assassinated, F.L.Q. spurns the Antitois and the more malignant anti-O.N.A.N. cells ridicule them. Freed of DuPlessis's restraint, Bertraund shows a flair for "stupid wastes of time": hanging a sword-stemmed fleur-de-lis flag on a U.S.A. "Civic War" hero's Boylston St. statue, taping bricks to Sans-Christe Gentle's C.U.S.P. postage-paid solicitation cards, distributing Astroturf doormats bearing Gentle's likeness — and, most consequentially, branching out into harmful pharmaceuticals as an attack on the fiber of New New England's youth (already fiberless enough, in Lucien's mute opinion). They are, all told, not a very fearsome operation.
