Those younger staffers who double as academic and athletic instructors are, by convention at North American tennis academies, known as ‘prorectors.’
Context
The institution's basic staffing term, defined. The people who both teach a class and stand on the court are "prorectors" — the hybrid role that runs the academy's daily body-work, half-academic and half-athletic. It's a small datum but a foundational one: the machinery that drills and grades these bodies is staffed by a specific, named, convention-bound class of hybrid functionary.
