the campus montage: the guru levitating over his dispenser
Lyle hovers cross-legged just a couple mm. above the top of the towel dispenser in the unlit weight room, eyes rolled up white, lips barely moving and making no sound.
Context
In a montage of everybody doing their simultaneous thing, Lyle's item is the campus's quiet transcendent-body emblem: the sweat-guru "just a couple mm. above the top of the towel dispenser," levitating in the dark weight room, "eyes rolled up white." His whole doctrine is the body's relation to objects and effort, and here the body has slipped its own weight — not dramatically, just a couple of millimeters, alone, unwitnessed. The weight room's presiding spirit floats above the very furniture where the players proffer him their sweat.
