Orin aloft: "I'm paid to punt"
I punt! I'm paid to punt long, high, well, and always! [...] I'm an athlete! I'm not a freak-show performer!
Context
Suspended over Mile-High in a feathered promotional costume, Orin protests his own reduction: the body has been narrowed to a single monetized function — "I'm paid to punt long, high, well, and always" — and he insists on "athlete" against "freak-show performer." It is the pro-sport machine's version of the same body-as-asset logic E.T.A. runs on: the athlete valued for one repeatable output, the rest of the man an inconvenience the trade-table didn't account for. (The Entertainment/spectacle apparatus is entertainment-self's; OURS is the athlete reduced to a paid bodily function.)
