Lord's Triggering Situation casts Canada as the treacherous catalyst of global war: "three high-level Canadian defense ministers vanish" and resurface toasting with the Soviet enemy, the defection that tips AMNAT and SOVWAR toward Armageddon. The present's real antagonist — anti-O.N.A.N. Canada — is smuggled into a Cold-War fantasy as the villain who starts it, the children unable to imagine a geopolitics in which Canadians are not the problem.
