the soup parable set up — "there is one can only, of…"

Marathe builds the parable that turns utilitarian ethics into geopolitics: two men, "one can only" of Single-Serving Habitant pea soup, a scarce good and a dead third party who brought it. The homely French-Canadian soup is the tell — the parable is rigged to become a fable of the U.S. and Québec, scarcity and allocation, "the most child-like case" of the tough-choice politics the Reconfiguration answered by dumping.
