The "gifts of alliance" is the Reconfiguration's exact euphemism (086's "Interdependence," the "intercontinental gift" that keeps receiving waste), and the Anschluss analogy names the coercion the friendly word hides. The Concavity grievance, the whole anthology's founding wound, is here retold as fable, its politics intact under the Swiss disguise: annexation dressed as generosity.
