Carlisle's structural reading, recorded not adopted: this stranded two-line micro-section — complete with its own repeated 30 APRIL date header — comes directly after the failed-recall passage, and he takes it as formally enacting it: an observation Marathe forgot to file, then later remembered, so the narration itself acquires Marathe's memory structure. Our digest treats the coda as an epithet beat; his reading explains why it's typographically orphaned.
