Context
The full citation for The Rand McNally Slightly Rectangular Hanging Map of the World: the earth Eschaton's children position themselves on is a mass-produced classroom product with a serial number, copyrighted "B.S." — Before Subsidization — 1994. The game's whole territory-standard is itself corporate cartography, and post-Reconfiguration it's presumably obsolete: the kids play thermonuclear war on a map of a world that no longer exists. (The serial's internal space is carried as found.)
