Context
The scene's fusion moment: Eschaton's literal game-map meets the book's street idiom for suicide — "eliminate [the] map for keeps" is exactly the formula the AA thread uses for killing yourself (p. 348, next entry). Pemulis means the game will die; the diction says a self will. The theme's two halves — cartographic play and cartographic death — touch in one sentence.
